Because there is suffering,
and because life is, but an opportunity...
the meaning of life for each of us is
what we make out of it.

About strength and diplomacy :-)

In view of the various country crises around the world, I would venture that most diplomats do not deserve half their salaries. As a hint, it is all about managing bullies without being one. It takes strength without violence, also real strength, and it takes it from all, as oppose to the few who call themselves leaders.

For a better mankind

At this point in my life, it seems to me that all conflicts, be they religious, nationalistic, or tribalistic in nature can  (and must) be solved by putting in practice the so-called "no asshole rule" developed by Robert I. Sutton.
In essence, based on the fact that the majority of us are empathic and altruistic, it says that it is easier for each of us to put limits to the chronically violent people individually (in the day to day) before they get together (war/racism). This means regaining control in our working place, in our lives, by distinguishing between strength and violence, and by not allowing violence to be perpetrated  This means for example being active at the small events in life like knowing how to stop bullying, teach children how to manage bullying behaviours in a constructive way, learn how to gently put limits to the unethical behaviour of a  boss before it becomes a culture, learn how to take from our environment without bullying it to death.

I truly think that without a  certain commitment to what I call "ethical strength" from the majority of us in our every day, it is illusory to expect peace and liberty.  In truth we have the leaders we deserve. To achieve this, we have to learn how to be strong without violence. Although few, historical examples like Gandhi and King, provide some basis for the societal change we wish for us and our children.
